Arranging the shoot to test out the learning from the research I have undertaken for this assignment. The purpose of the images should have a fashion aspect to them. From my research, the purpose of fashion is to accentuate the clothing, within the image. This is the traditional way that fashion has previously shot in the past, rather than some of the modern images that turned this around into fashion lifestyle imagery without accentuating the clothing or the items being, marketed or branded into the market place.
The model and I went through a wardrobe, choosing a garment suitable for the images. The was a modest problem, with the model’s underwear, which altered the flow of the garment and completing the rectification needed, before shooting could begin. We then set off for the first location. We chose Pearson Park, as this offered some well used spots from other local photographers. Some of the locations, thought, of could not be, considered as they were occupied. This entailed scouting some other locations within the park, paying attention to the backgrounds and the direction of light in the scene. The thinking was to try and extend the light to give creativity in the shadow areas, and not to try and fight the lot stronger power of the sun. This is achieved by, having the light from the Speedlite`s having an acute tangent angle to the direction of the sun’s rays. This in turn just bends or extends the lit area a bit further and gives the camera angle more pleasing shadow areas and contrast. This gives a very natural lighting effect to the images, and makes it harder to see the added light as it has blended with the natural light, and compliments rather than fights the sunlight, which can create unnaturally lit images, which seem false, and need a lot more power.
